Dark Utah Timeout

During a timeout in the final 39.7 seconds of the Utah Aggies vs. Hawaii Rainbow Warriors college basketball game January 30th, Utah’s Spectrum arena went dark for about three or four minutes.

“It’s definitely not something I’ve seen before,” Utah State media rep Doug Hoffman told Pollstar.

The game started at 10 p.m. Mountain time, rather than the usual 7 p.m., because it was being televised.

“Those lights are on a timer and that’s when they were supposed to go off,” he explained.

Lighting around the concourse stayed on, so the arena wasn’t pitch black, he added. The Aggies went on to beat the Rainbow Warriors 63-52.
