Williams will tour the West Coast through early March, then head through the Midwest, Great Lakes region and the South, playing a mix of theatres, clubs and colleges.

He’s supporting his latest effort, a collection of “anything-but-traditional” bluegrass songs called Grass.

Although Williams usually performs alone, looping up layers of instruments and effects, he’ll be joined on select dates by guitarist Larry Keel and Keel’s bassist wife, Jenny. The husband-and-wife team served as backing musicians on Grass.

The spring tour ends April 22, but Williams is planning ahead, with a June 10 appearance confirmed at the Wakarusa Festival in Lawrence, Kan., as well as a Virginia show several days later.
