King Biscuit Petition

Arkansas nonprofit Sonny Boy Blues Society – which last year lost the right to use the “King Biscuit” moniker for its annual Helena festival – has posted an online petition in hopes of regaining use of the name from New York-based King Biscuit Entertainment Group.

Last September, the society lost the Biscuit moniker because sponsors couldn’t afford to pay about $15,000 to trademark holder KBEG.

The King Biscuit Blues Festival was forced to change its name to the Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival.

At press time, more than 2,500 people had signed the petition. It can be viewed at bluesandheritage.com.
