Arkansas nonprofit Sonny Boy Blues Society – which last year lost the right to use the “King Biscuit” moniker for its annual Helena festival – has posted an online petition in hopes of regaining use of the name from New York-based
Last September, the society lost the Biscuit moniker because sponsors couldn’t afford to pay about $15,000 to trademark holder KBEG.
At press time, more than 2,500 people had signed the petition. It can be viewed at bluesandheritage.com.
