Memorial Coliseum Demolition In Works

The City Council in Corpus Christi, Texas, voted 8-1 on January 31st to begin negotiations with a development company that plans to demolish the long-dormant Memorial Coliseum and replace it with a fairground and small shops.

The Corpus Christi Caller-Times reported the venue would cost between $4.5 million and $6 million to restore.

Meanwhile, TRT Development said the firm would restore the venue’s historic plaque and donate $25,000 toward a new memorial, according to the Caller-Times.
