ACM Nominees

Brad Paisley leads the list of nominees for the 41st annual Academy of Country Music Awards with six nods, including male vocalist of the year.

The nominees were announced March 8th in Nashville, but the awards won’t be handed out until May 23rd at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena during a live CBS broadcast.

Brooks & Dunn and Sugarland received five noms each, while Rascal Flatts and “American Idol” winner Carrie Underwood each had four.

Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles earned a nomination in the vocal event category for her duet with Jon Bon Jovi, “Who Says You Can’t Go Home.” This is Bon Jovi’s first ACM nomination.

Besides top male vocalist, Paisley was nominated for album of the year for Time Well Wasted, single of the year for “Alcohol,” and song of the year, vocal event of the year and video of the year for his duet with Dolly Parton, “When I Get Where I’m Going.”

Top male vocalist nominees are Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Paisley, George Strait and last year’s winner Keith Urban.

ACM top female vocalists include Sara Evans, Martina McBride, Underwood, Gretchen Wilson and Lee Ann Womack.

New group or duo nominees are Big & Rich, Little Big Town, and Sugarland. New female vocalists are Miranda Lambert, Julie Roberts and Carrie Underwood, and new male artists are Jason Aldean, Billy Currington and Craig Morgan.

In addition to Paisley, album of the year nominees are Feels Like Today, Rascal Flatts; There’s More Where That Came From, Lee Ann Womack; Tough All Over, Gary Allan; and Twice the Speed of Life, Sugarland.
