Six dates are planned starting April 27 in Chicago, with stops in Port Chester, N.Y., Miami and three California cities.

The tour will wrap May 4 in San Diego, after which Aterciopelados (“The Velvet Ones”) will go back into the studio to finish work on a new album slated for release this fall.

Echeverri’s self-titled solo album has garnered nominations for Grammy, Latin Grammy, MTV Latin America and Premio Lo Nuestro awards.

Prior to the tour, she’ll perform at the inauguration ceremony of Michelle Bachelet, Chile’s first female president, in Santiago March 12.
