Schur Starts New Label

Former Geffen Records President Jordan Schur has started up Suretone Records in a co-venture with Interscope Geffen A&M.

He brings along five established acts: Weezer, The Cure, Rooney, New Found Glory, and Angels & Airwaves (a new venture by Blink-182‘s Tom Delonge).

The label will also be home to three new acts: Headway, Eastern Conference Champions, and The Pink Spiders (to be released through Geffen).

Schur still owns Flip Records with The Firm’s CEO Jeff Kwatinetz.

The record exec said this new venture was an opportunity for him to “be back in the natural territory of ownership.”
