The trek, dubbed Every Fan For Himself, will find the multiplatinum band playing relatively intimate venues, compared with the arenas it visited with Velvet Revolver last year. Tickets are free and available via an interactive map at hoobastank.com as well as through local radio contests and retailers.

The 11-city tour runs from April 11-27, starting at Middle East in Cambridge, Mass., and hitting clubs including New York City’s Hard Rock Cafe, Denver’s Gothic Theatre and Slim’s in San Francisco before wrapping in Houston at Warehouse Live.

The band’s Web site and purevolume.com are also holding contests for local bands and fans. Winning bands can serve as the opening act when Hoobastank comes to their city, and fans can win the chance to be on the hoobastank.com home page for a day.

Every Man For Himself, which follows 2003’s The Reason, is due May 16.
