Ride Of The Fauns
Faun Fables, the theatrical psych-folk project of San Francisco’s Dawn McCarthy, will take its latest batch of material on the road this spring.
Two dozen dates are booked, starting with The Independent in San Francisco April 22 and finishing at The Triple Door in Seattle June 6. The itinerary includes double gigs in Chicago and Oakland, as well as performances in New York City, Brooklyn, Toronto and Denver.
The group will be performing its new album, The Transit Rider, set for release in May on Drag City. The Transit Rider is a collection of songs that began in 1994 in New York City, came to life as a full theatre show in 2002, and was further developed into a recorded album by McCarthy and frequent collaborator Nils Frykdahl.
This year’s “newly adapted” version of the show will feature McCarthy and Frykdahl with help from Jenya Chernoff and Matt Lebofsky.
