The group will launch its first tour in a decade May 18 at The Roxy in Los Angeles, followed by gigs in San Diego, Chicago, Boston and New York City. They’ll wrap at the latter city’s Bowery Ballroom May 23, launching a six-week European leg three days later at Portugal’s Super Bock Super Rock Festival.

Guitarist Jerry Cantrell, bassist Mike Inez and drummer Sean Kinney will be joined by vocalist William Duvall of Comes With A Fall, along with “a few other special guests and musical friends,” according to a press release.

Original singer Layne Staley died of a drug overdose in April 2002.

Cantrell, Inez and Kinney caught the reunion bug after playing a tsunami benefit show last year with guest vocalists including Tool’s Maynard James Keenan, Heart’s Ann Wilson, Puddle of Mudd‘s Wes Scantlin, and former Damageplan vocalist Patrick Lachman.

In March, the band performed with Duvall and ex-Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo during a VH1 Decades Rock Live tribute to Heart.
