Performing Arts Center For Mall

Part of the $1 billion expansion plan for Bloomington, Minn.’s Mall of America includes a 6,000-seat performing arts center, according to a preliminary development plan filed with the city.

The PAC will present live orchestras, among other acts, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

The Phase II expansion plan also reportedly calls for a museum including traveling exhibits, along with a 74,000-square-foot dinner theatre.

Mall officials hope to break ground on the project this fall and complete development by the end of 2009, the paper said.
