Pepsi Arena Name Change

Albany, N.Y.’s Pepsi Arena has completed its search for a new naming sponsor and is expected to become the Times Union Center effective January 1, 2007.

The agreement is for 10 years and Albany’s Times Union newspaper will pay the arena $350,000 annually and provide marketing and advertising.

Pepsi held the naming rights to the 17,500-capacity, SMG-managed arena for the past decade but declined to renew its contract.
