Live Cinema Nation

Live Nation and National CineMedia announced they have joined forces to bring more concerts into movie theaters.

Concerts and other Live Nation events will be carried across National CineMedia’s Digital Content Network, a digital satellite network that beams programming into 850 movie theaters and 11,000 screens in most of the Top 50 markets in the country.

Making for a nice bit of corporate cooperation, Regal Entertainment Group – owned by Philip Anschutz and a sister company of Anshcutz Entertainment Group – is one of three major movie theater chains that joined to create National CineMedia in March 2005.

Previously, the company simply known as CineMedia launched its Big Screen Concerts division in 2002.

Today, National CineMedia says its Digital Content Network reaches 525 million movie patrons annually.
