The group will perform in a special eight-piece lineup to showcase tunes from the all-acoustic second disc of last year’s In Your Honor album. The songs have not been played live on the band’s recent tours, which have included a massive co-headlining run with Weezer and gigs in Australia, Europe and Japan.

The tour will launch July 11 at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre, followed by gigs in Berkeley, Calif., and San Diego, all with Curran opening. Black will take over for the East Coast run, which runs from August 16-25 with stops in Philadelphia, New York City, Boston and Chicago.

Foo regulars Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel and Chris Shiflett will be joined onstage by Petra Haden on violin, Rami Jaffee on keys, Drew Hester on percussion and former member Pat Smear on guitar.

Tickets go on sale May 19.
