Lay-offs at Sony BMG Nashville

Sony BMG Nashville laid off 20 staffers May 16th as part of previously announced restructuring plans.

“We’ve repositioned our Nashville operations in order to effectively respond to the challenges of the current business environment,” Sony BMG Nashville chief Joe Galante said in an e-mail to employees, according to The Tennessean.

Along with the cuts, the Epic Nashville imprint – home to Gretchen Wilson‘s two albums – was shuttered, Galante announced.

His memo did not specify which departments would see cuts, the paper said.
