Amusement Business Ceases Publication
VNU has abruptly shuttered its Amusement Business magazine, with May its last issue.
The trade mag focused on fairs, theme parks and other outdoor entertainment.
It began as Billboard Advertising in 1894, then morphed into Billboard and AB eventually spun off into a sister publication.
“Industry consolidation in the core festival, fair, carnival and theme park markets continued to put the brand in a challenged position over the last several years,” VNU Business Media’s Tony Uphoff said in a statement.
A consortium recently purchased the Dutch publishing company for $9.7 billion.
VNU includes Nielsen’s Television Ratings, Nielsen SoundScan, Billboard and Hollywood Reporter.
