Wreck ‘N’ Roll
Los Angeles six-piece Trainwreck has a month-long U.S. tour planned, starting July 15 at Hollywood’s Knitting Factory.
The band features Klip Calhoun, aka Kyle Gass of Tenacious D, on guitar and vocals, along with Daryl Lee Donald, Lance Branson, John Bartholomew Shredman, Boy Johnny and Dallas St. Bernard.
They’ll make their way up the West Coast, then head through Denver to the Midwest and Great Lakes states. The tour will wrap in Milwaukee August 11.
The group calls its sound “Wreck ‘N’ Roll,” mixing classic and Southern rock with a dose of “alternative.” Jack Black has voiced his approval for Gass’ side project, stating, “If you like Tenacious D, you will LIKE Trainwreck.”
Trainwreck hasn’t hit the road since spring 2005, when the band supported the Reverend Horton Heat and Supersuckers on a West Coast run.
