HoB For Dallas

House of Blues will see two new Texas clubs in 2007. HoB Entertainment announced plans for a new venue in Dallas June 1st, following a February announcement of a planned HoB in Houston.

Construction of the 1,600-capacity Dallas HoB was scheduled to begin immediately, and is slated to open in early 2007. Along with hosting concerts, the venue will offer fine dining space and the Foundation Room private membership lounge.

The new HoB will be located in the city’s 75-acre, $3 billion-plus Victory Park development. The area will feature high-end retail, restaurants, office space, residential units, hotels and entertainment venues near the 20,000-seat American Airlines Center.

“We’ve enjoyed being an integral part of the greater Dallas community through our House of Blues Concerts-promoted venue, Smirnoff Music Centre, and are extremely optimistic about the market,” HoB’s Liam Thornton said in statement.

A House of Blues spokeswoman told Pollstar that former HoB Chicago GM Jim Jablonski will relocate from the Windy City to Dallas to oversee the region.

Within the past 18 months, Los Angeles-based HoB has opened clubs in Cleveland, San Diego and Atlantic City. The company also recently announced plans to enter into the Seattle market, which will see the light of day in the first half of 2007.

Meanwhile, HoB Entertainment announced earlier this year plans for a new 1,500-capacity venue in Houston, which will become an integral addition to the $200 million Houston Pavilion project slated for 2007.
