The dates span a full six weeks, starting July 14 in The Format’s home base of Phoenix. With Anathallo and Street To Nowhere opening up, the bands will hit theatres including New York’s Irving Plaza, Philadelphia’s Theater Of Living Arts and Avalon in Los Angeles.

Rainer Maria will split from the group for a Lollapalooza appearance August 5, while the other three bands play Toronto’s Opera House. The four bands will reunite the next day in Rochester, N.Y., and stay on the road through September 1, wrapping at San Diego’s Soma Side.

Rainer Maria is supporting its fifth album, Catastrophe Keeps Us Together. The disc is the trio’s first studio effort since 2003’s Long Knives Drawn.

The group released Catastrophe April 4 and toured North America this spring with Ambulette opening.

The Format’s new album, Dog Problems, will hit stores July 11 but is already available for download via theformat.com. The group decided to make the disc available for purchase via mp3 after it leaked in May.
