The trio, which Rolling Stone recently said “may well be the best unsigned band in America,” will play clubs throughout the South, East Coast and Midwest starting July 2 at Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wis.

The band has dates booked in 34 cities, including a stop at the 40 Watt Club in the group’s hometown of Athens, Ga. The tour will wrap September 2 in Tampa, Fla., but the band has more plans in the works for this fall, including an appearance at the in New Orleans October 29.

The Whigs have been building their name regionally for the past couple of years, but it wasn’t until last July that they shacked up to record a full-length album. Give ‘Em All A Big Fat Lip was tracked in Athens by engineer Billy Bennett and mixed in Nashville by David Axelrod, and is available through the band’s official Web site as well as on iTunes.
