Dead Signs Licensing Agreement

The Grateful Dead has signed a licensing agreement with Los Angeles-based Rhino Entertainment to manage all of the band’s intellectual property.

Rhino, a subsidiary of Warner Music Group, will oversee everything from the Dead’s recordings and Web site to its merchandise and use of the band’s likeness.

Grateful Dead Productions will continue to have creative control, and the agreement doesn’t include the group’s music publishing.
