Cadillac Drops Led Zep
It’s been a long time since Cadillac started using Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll” as part of its marketing campaign, and it’s finally going to stop.
“We have a brand new campaign coming out, which won’t include Led Zeppelin, and that pretty much says it all,” Cadillac spokesman Kevin Smith told The Wall Street Journal.
The marketing campaign debuted during the 2003 Super Bowl. The crop never got rotated – “Rock and Roll” remained the Cadillac theme song until the recent announcement, and ad-agency execs told the WSJ the tune will remain unuseable by other marketers for some time.
