La Villa Real Closes
The 4,000-capacity La Villa Real Special Events Center in McAllen, Texas, shuttered June 30th to make way for a Harley-Davidson dealership.
The “real road” to entertainment – as owner Arnaldo “Nano” Ramirez Jr. named it – opened 29 years ago, according to South Texas’ The Monitor.

Ramirez held a press conference where he was surprised to see Mayor Richard Cortez apologize for problems between the owner and a past administration.
Ramirez has said the city tried many times to shut him down, according to the paper.
