No Songs For Joliet
A summer concert series in Joliet, Ill., ended soon after it began when the promoter lost between $80,000 and $100,000 out of the gate.
The “Joliet Concert Series at Silver Cross Field” – to take place at the minor league baseball field of the Joliet Jackhammers – was canceled after initial ticket sales tanked.
Group 7 Marketing, a Naperville marketer that promoted the events, was able to produce only one show before the series was taken off the calendar.
“The reason why we had to cancel the event was because there was no money available,” Group 7’s Joe Hill told The Herald News. He asked for patience in resolving the matter; several people had contacted the paper because they could not reach the promoter or get refund information.
Hill said there were other factors in canceling the series but did not elaborate.
Artist representatives told Pollstar their clients had not received their deposit binders. Group 7 could not be reached for comment.
