New Name For Arrowhead Pond

The Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim will change its name to Honda Center this October under a naming rights deal between venue operator Anaheim Arena Management and American Honda Motor Co.

The deal is the first name change for the 13-year-old California venue, the home of the National Hockey League’s Anaheim Ducks.

After the team changed its name from the Mighty Ducks in June, the building could have shortened its name to Arrowhead Pond according to an agreement with the city that specifies that either the team or the venue must reference Anaheim, but now the arena can skip all that change in signage.

Longtime sponsor Arrowhead Mountain Spring Water’s contract expires in September.
