Freddy Fender Diagnosed With Cancer
Freddy Fender has been diagnosed with incurable cancer after tests showed he has several tumors on his lungs.
Fender received a kidney transplant in 2002 and a liver transplant in 2004.
Earlier this year, doctors decided to not remove the upper left lobe of one of his lungs, which had a fungal infection, because they found two lemon-sized tumors.
Fender has decided to resume chemotherapy once every three weeks.
“I feel very comfortable in my life,” Fender said. “I’m one year away from 70 and I’ve had a good run.”
