Del’s New Game
Hip-hop veteran Del Tha Funky Homosapien will hit the stage again this September for the first time since headlining the 2004 ESPN Videogames-sponsored Cali Comm tour. But he doesn’t have a new album coming out.
Instead, the 38-date tour will support the recently released DVD, “The 11th Hour,” a semi-documentary that lets fans step inside Del’s world as he tours and records his long awaited new CD of the same name.
Del, who also performs occasionally with his crew Hieroglyphics, formed his own record label, Hieroglyphics Imperium, after Elektra abruptly terminated his contract following his sophomore album.
The Oakland native, a regular performer on the hip-hop tour circuit whose given name is Teren Delvon Jones, is known to mainstream audiences for his collaborations with Gorillaz, and as a frequent musical contributor to video game soundtracks.
