Evanescence Opens Up
Evanescence has announced its first tour dates in more than two years, with a North American road trip set to launch after the release of the band’s new album.
The new disc, The Open Door, hits stores October 3. The tour begins two days later at Toronto’s Kool Haus, with 17 dates booked over the next several weeks.
The itinerary includes mostly theatres and is a significantly smaller affair than the group’s last outing in summer 2004. That year, the band played mostly amphitheatres with Three Days Grace, Seether, and Breaking Benjamin opening up.
North American dates run through October 29, but Evanescence promises that this is just the first leg of a world tour.
The Open Door is the band’s second full-length album. The group’s debut, Fallen, has gone six times platinum since its release in 2003.
