WNBA’s Sparks And ‘Idols’ Clash

The Los Angeles Sparks are scheduled to host the second game of the WNBA Western Conference finals, but officials at the team’s home court of Staples Center have reserved the date for an “American Idols Live” tour stop August 26th.

If the team makes the second round of the playoffs, it will have to move temporarily to The Pond of Anaheim (to be renamed Honda Center this fall).

Team president Johnny Buss told the Los Angeles Times the team would take its basketball floor and baskets to the Pond, then bring them back the next day in the event of a third game.
