Busta Rhymes Arrested

Busta Rhymes was arraigned August 20th on a third-degree assault charge after being accused of attacking a man for spitting on his car August 12th.

Rhymes was released on his own recognizance, a spokeswoman for the Manhattan district attorney’s office said.

The rapper is due back in court October 24th.

Rhymes attorney Scott Leemon said the charge is “payback by the NYPD,” and should have only led to a desk appearance ticket.

Police have reportedly wanted to interview Rhymes since the February shooting death of one of his bodyguards.
