Concert Hall Plan Dropped
Santa Clara County supervisors in San Jose, Calif., have voted to end a troubled effort to bring a House of Blues-operated concert hall to the county fairgrounds.
The supervisors balked at a recent report that the concert hall would now require $15 million in public funds. The county is facing a $200 million budget deficit, according to the San Jose Mercury News, which also cooled their heels.
The supervisors voted 3-2 August 29th to call it quits on the proposed 7,000-seat venue, according to the San Jose Business Journal.
