Dick Scott Dies

Dick Scott, 73, died in Los Angeles August 29th after a long illness.

The jack of all trades managed New Kids On The Block, Boyz II Men, and New Edition, among others at Dick Scott Entertainment.

He orchestrated New Kids’ extensive marketing to the tune of $800 million in merch income in 1990.

He was Berry Gordy’s assistant at Motown Records and its entertainment director. He was also road manager for The Temptations and The Supremes.

Scott was also assistant station manager at the first African-American-owned radio station in the country and was the first African-American manager of the Michigan State Fair.
