AEG Scores Seattle Venue

AEG Live and facility operator First & Goal have announced a multipurpose theatre inside Seattle’s Qwest Field Event Center.

The venue is expected to have flexible seating from 3,300 to 7,000, and will be named WaMu Theater under a 10-year naming-rights agreement with WaMu Bank. The building has previously been used primarily for large-scale consumer events and community programs.

“We are delighted to offer a new music experience in Seattle and believe this will be an outstanding venue within the Qwest Field Event Center,” First & Goal CEO Tod Leiweke said in a statement. “The new design elements, technology and additional space, along with our partnership with AEG Live will enable us to bring additional high-profile concerts and corporate meetings to the venue.”

The facility is scheduled to open November 3rd with a Seal concert, followed by Van Morrison on November 4th.

“WaMu Theater is bound to be one of the most unique and busiest venues in the country,” AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips said.
