Rock ‘N’ Coke Still Fizzing

The fourth annual Rock ‘N’ Rock n’ Coke Istanbul pulled 25,000 per day to Istanbul’s Hezarfen Airfield, which consolidated the progress the event made last year.

Crowd numbers had gone up steadily since the first edition pulled 10,000 in 2003. The 2004 attendance was around 16,000. Cem Yegul of Pozitif Productions, which organizes the festival, was happy to see the 2006 figure come close to last year’s figure.

“It may be a little down on last year but it certainly won’t be very much,” he told Pollstar as he waited for major ticket seller Billetix and the other outlets to confirm what they’d sold.

Muse, Placebo, Mercury Rev, Kasabian, Gogol Bordello, Editors, The Sisters Of Mercy, and Reamonn were among the acts helping Rock ‘N’ Coke establish itself on the European summer festival circuit September 2-3.
