Burns was hospitalized and released and will be recuperating at home for some time, according to a press release.

Dave Ellefson, former Megadeth bassist and currently of F5 and Temple of Brutality, will fill in for Burns through September 26. Danny Lilker – who has played with Anthrax, SOD, and Nuclear Assault and is currently a member of Brutal Truth – will then take over.

The U.S. Dark Ages tour is slated to run through October 6. Soulfly is scheduled to head to Australia later in the month for three performances on the Gigantour package.
