The November 17th concert in Reykjavik, Iceland, is being held to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of The Sugarcubes first single, “Birthday.” The show, which doubles as a benefit for Smekkleysa SM, marks the first time in 14 years that the band has performed together.

“Birthday” was also the inaugural single for Smekkleysa SM, the band’s own label. Over the past 20 years the label has worked on a non-profit basis to advance the development and promotion of Icelandic music and artists.

For fans who want to attend the party, but are grappling with the idea of getting to Iceland, tickets for the concert are available as part of a package through Icelandair that includes air travel and a ticket to the show.

Regular ticket sales haven’t begun yet, but a message on Bjork’s Web site promises that they will go on sale soon through an online site.
