The band will be joined for most of the tour by Orlando’s Summerbirds in the Cellar. Having Summerbirds in the opening slot was a natural choice since two members of Summerbirds, Brad Register and Curtis Brown, are also part of Now It’s Overhead.

At the core of the collective that is Now It’s Overhead is Andy LeMaster, a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and recording engineer who has lent his skills to projects by artists like Bright Eyes. LeMaster is also the co-owner of an Athens recording studio, Chase Park Transductions, whose client roster includes R.E.M., Chris Martin and Drive-By Truckers.

Now It’s Overhead first broke out of the local Athens music scene when R.E.M. tapped the band to open its 2004 tour. Since then the band has continued to build a national following touring alongside bands like Rilo Kiley, The Faint, and Azure Ray.

Earlier this year they completed a 10-week headlining tour accompanied by labelmates Tilly and the Wall.
