Officials at Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina announced September 25th a 10-year, $3.5 million naming rights deal for its proposed 7,000-capacity arena with local business Your Residential Technology Team, or YRT2.
What the $48 million venue’s name will be is still under discussion. YRT2 officials are said to be talking with some other technology companies that will be involved in the naming process, according to The Sun News of Myrtle Beach.
The new facility, featuring a hockey rink and basketball court, will reportedly have interactive capabilities such as wireless technology, plasma screen TVs and special kiosks throughout the building.
Construction is expected to begin early next year and could take up to 18 months to complete, the paper said.
