The European leg of the tour launches October 7 in Oslo, Norway and makes it way around the EU before wrapping up in Edinburgh, Scotland October 25.

The tour makes a jump across the Pond in November for a handful of North American dates beginning with the Paradise Rock Club in Boston on November 3.

Cole’s weblog promises more European dates for early 2007, as well as an early spring trek through Australia and New Zealand.

As an artist who is just about always on tour, Cole is known for his intimate solo acoustic shows. On the upcoming tour he’ll be joined by former Commotion Neil Clark, who also appears on his new disc.

Cole first gained attention in the states in the mid-80s as part of the group Lloyd Cole and the Commotions. Although the band called it quits in 1989, he has remained a cult favorite who is appreciated by fans for his witty, articulate lyrics and catchy melodies.

His new album, Antidepressant, which drops October 10 in the U.S., is his fourth release on indie label One Little Indian.
