The tour is to launch in Cambridge, Mass., at the Middle East Club October 8. New York City’s Bowery Ballroom is up next, with Philadelphia’s Theatre of the Living Arts, Chicago’s Metro / Smart Bar, and Los Angeles’ Music Box @ Fonda among the clubs and theatres scheduled for the following weeks.

The band will stay on the road through November 22, finishing at Icon in Buffalo, N.Y.

The group was founded in early 2005 by ex-Unicorns members Nick Diamonds (aka Nicholas Thorburn) and J’aime Tambeur (aka Jamie Thompson). Its debut album, Return To The Sea, was released this April on Equator Records in the U.S. and Rough Trade in the U.K.

Islands toured the U.S. and Canada earlier this year with indie hip-hop acts Why?, Busdriver, and Cadence Weapon providing support.

In May, Thompson announced he had left the group. Thorburn has carried on with an often-changing lineup of musicians.
