Califone Country
Experimental rock band Califone has embarked on its first tour since 2004, a seven-week trek across North America. The group, led by former Red Red Meat frontman Tim Rutili, has a new album out on Thrill Jockey this month titled Roots & Crowns.
The itinerary includes several Canadian stops and the group will swing through New York City twice – first at Tonic November 2 and again at Joe’s Pub a week later.
Two gigs are also slated in the band’s hometown of Chicago, at Empty Bottle and The Hideout.
Califone will stay on the road through November 22, finishing at Birdy’s in Indianapolis.
Roots & Crowns is the band’s third release for Thrill Jockey and follows 2004’s Heron King Blues.
