Fender Continues Treatment

Freddy Fender was moved October 4th from a cancer treatment center in Oklahoma to University Hospital in San Antonio to treat a blood infection.

Fender, 69, has suffered from multiple health problems in recent years including kidney and liver failure, diabetes, and hepatitis C.

He began treatment for cancer after a January operation to remove part of a lung damaged by a fungal infection revealed multiple tumors.

Family members said the singer will eventually return to Oklahoma.
