Sick Puppies Get Dogged
Sydney trio the Sick Puppies, now based in Los Angeles, have a hit via the Internet.
For the band’s single “All The Same,” they shot a video of a man known in Sydney’s Pitt Street for going around hugging people.
They put it up on video-swapping site YouTube, where it’s started a buzz. It racked up 1 million views in five days, according to management company On Corporation.
“Good Morning America” broadcast it to 4 million viewers, while MySpace.com, Yahoo.com and AT&T Blueroom came on board.
“60 Minutes Australia” flew a crew to Los Angeles for a story. The Sick Puppies, which has been negotiating for a major label deal, said the bids have grown tenfold.
