They’ll play a series of shows along the West Coast in October, including two gigs with Gomez in San Francisco and Denver. After a final gig in Boulder, Colo., November 2, the pair will head across the Atlantic for a dozen U.K. concerts. In London, they’ll play The Forum November 23 and Shepherd’s Bush Empire the following day.

When they return home to Ireland in December, the Mexican natives will play four nights in a row in Dublin followed by two shows in Cork.

The pair, Rodrigo Sanchez and Gabriela Quintero, met as teenagers and played in a metal band together in Mexico City before deciding to head for Europe as a duo in 1999. They also spent time in Copenhagen and Barcelona before being invited to tour with Damien Rice.

Their fast-paced, highly rhythmic music combines a wide array of Latin and rock elements, with a healthy dose of their first love: metal.

Rodrigo y Gabriela’s newest album was released Stateside in early October on Rubyworks. It follows 2004’s Live In Manchester And Dublin and their 2003 debut, re-Foc.
