Keith Urban And Jet Sidelined

Two of Australia’s biggest acts have been sidelined by ill health just as they’ve released new product.

Jet postponed a series of European dates October 14-25 while singer Nic Cester had surgery in London to remove nodules on his vocal chords. Two weeks before, Jet rescheduled two NYC shows when Cester lost his voice.

Keith Urban‘s decision to go into rehab in Nashville came on the eve of a hectic week of promotion in Australia behind his new album, Love Pain & The Whole Crazy Thing.

It was to culminate with an appearance at the October 29th ARIA awards in Sydney to a viewing audience of 1.5 million. In Australia, Urban does not enjoy the superstar status he enjoys in the United States. His record company downunder, EMI Music Australia, had hoped a concerted campaign behind the new album would elevate his status.
