The two musicians will traverse the U.S. together starting November 28 in Solana Beach, Calif. They’ll do several dates in Colorado, Texas and Florida before heading up the East Coast to wrap in New York City December 22 at an as-yet-unnamed venue.

Dolby returned to the stage in January, opening a few dates for Dramarama and The English Beat before embarking on a solo tour this spring. The shows spawned a live CD/DVD, The Sole Inhabitant, which is Dolby’s first release since 1992.

Although he’s best known for his pop hit “She Blinded Me With Science,” Dolby has always focused on a wide range of music and spent his time off from the music biz developing products like polyphonic ringtones.

According to a press release, Dolby’s sets on the upcoming tour will feature “an intriguing blend of today’s state of the art computer music with vintage 1940s oscilloscopes and ex-Royal Navy field test equipment.”

Trance pioneer BT will perform with a three-piece band, showcasing soundtracks to animations from This Binary Universe, his latest CD/DVD.

“I feel he’s a modern master and it’s great that we will each be exposing our core audience to the other’s work,” Dolby said of his touring partner in a recent blog post.

Dolby and BT are also planning a few collaborative encore jams.
