Pieroni Moves Into Venues

Italy-based promoter Andrea Pieroni is moving into the venue business as he and his partners have bought Piacenze Fillmore and built a new hall in Florence.

The 1,000-capacity Florence venue, which is to be called The Viper, opens December 1st with Motel Connection. The Fillmore has remained open while the sale has gone through.

The Live In Italy chief has bought or built the venues in partnership with businessmen who previously had no involvement in the live music industry.

Pieroni’s upcoming shows include Tool and Mastodon in Turin, Firenze, Rimini and Jesolo, and two already sold-out Iron Maiden shows at the 12,000-capacity Milan Forum.

In 2007, his confirmed shows include Cradle of Filth, Opeth, Europe, Hammerfall, Hatebreed, Grave Digger, Amen, and The Haunted.
