Gordon Named GM Of James Brown Arena

Robert “Flash” Gordon, a local record store owner and concert promoter, has been named general manager of James Brown Arena in Augusta, Ga., according to the Augusta Chronicle.

He will oversee operations at the 8,677-capacity arena and 2,690-capacity William B. Bell Auditorium.

Gordon’s previous experience as promotions manager at Mercury-Polydor Records in the 1970s is reportedly what Augusta-Richmond County Coliseum Authority board members felt would bring a new perspective to booking the venue, the paper said.
