The 2007 Take Action! Tour also features Emery, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, A Static Lullaby, and Kaddisfly.

The first date on the 40-city tour is a February 1 show at Washington’s 9:30 club. The tour, which counts music lifestyle retailer Hot Topic among its sponsors, will crisscross the country for seven weeks and wrap up March 3 at Irving Plaza in New York.

The tour and a companion compilation CD benefit the Youth America Hotline! (1-877-YOUTHLINE), which helps young people in crisis through peer-to-peer counseling and education about mental health issues. Together the two raised more than $100,000 last year for the hotline.

The Take Action! Tour also has a history of helping to break bands. Previous bands who got a leg up from the tour include Anti-Flag, Avenged Sevenfold, Hawthorne Heights, Jimmy Eat World, The Early November, and Thrice.

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus are taking the responsibility of headlining this tour seriously. The band’s members are all training to become certified crisis counselors for the Youth America Hotline!, as well as working to spread awareness of domestic abuse through their work with the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Their latest single, “Face Down,” which confronts the topic, currently holds the No. 6 spot on the Alternative Radio charts.
