Prince Scores Super Bowl

Prince will headline the halftime entertainment at Super Bowl XLI at Dolphin Stadiumin Miami February 4th.

The six-time Grammy winner is the third Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist in a row to play during Super Bowl halftime festivities, following The Rolling Stones in 2006 and Paul McCartney in 2005.

The Super Bowl, which will be broadcast on CBS, is annually television’s highest-rated show, with an estimated audience of 141 million viewers for last year’s telecast.

The NFL has been cautious in its approach to halftime entertainment since Janet Jackson‘s notorious 2004 “wardrobe malfunction.”
